Purpose: Expose the architecture of your shadow, reveal projections, identify the most urgent unconscious material, and map a path toward integration.
1. The Mask I Wear
(What persona I cling to — the identity I perform to feel safe.)
This shows the faƧade you're unconsciously protecting. It’s the opposite of the shadow and gives you your first clue: whatever this card glorifies, the shadow hides the inverse.
2. The Shadow Behind the Mask
(The core aspect of myself I’m suppressing, denying or refusing to embody.)
This is your true shadow — the raw, animalistic, emotional, or unwanted energy that fuels patterns beneath awareness.
3. The Projection I’m Throwing Onto Others
(What part of myself I’ve been seeing “out there” instead of “in here.”)
This card reveals the traits you obsess over, judge, fear, or idealize in other people. Classic projection territory.
4. The Shadow Most Eager to Be Seen Right Now
(The unconscious content closest to the surface and begging for integration.)
This is fresh material rising from the depths — the stuff that’s ready for breakthrough, healing, or embodiment.
5. What This Shadow Is Trying to Teach Me
(The psychological function or gift hidden inside this shadow.)
Every shadow holds power. This card shows exactly what strength, instinct, or wisdom is trapped inside the darkness.
6. How to Integrate This Shadow
(Concrete attitude, behavior, ritual, or mindset that will merge this shadow into consciousness.)
This is praxis. Jung would call this the bridge between ego and Self.
7. The Ally Walking With Me Into the Underworld
(Guide, archetype, internal voice, or spirit helping me through this process.)
Could be an inner feminine/masculine figure, an ancestor, a deity, a psychological archetype, or simply a way of being. This is your support beam in the descent.
